The PM of the country that faced escalated civil unrest for about one month is set to hold meetings with Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The visit comes few days after Abiy indicated an end to military operations in Tigray region and announced that rebuilding work had begun.

CGTN Africa reported that Abiy will accompany Uhuru in the opening of Moyale One Stop Border Post that will smoothen transport services between Kenya and Ethiopia.

Uhuru and Abiy are also expected to tour Lamu in the Kenyan Coast to inspect and assess progress of the ongoing Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia-Transport (LAPSSET) Corridor project.

The two countries enjoy warm relationship and Uhuru was among world leaders who called for a peaceful resolution to the Tigray standoff.

The countries tight bond has been held together by an Ethio-Kenya Special Status Agreement for over decades now.
