Death Rumours

Social media sites and the internet in general was awash with claims that the senator who was at Nairobi Hospital had died on Thursday, December 10.

The family in a quick rejoinder rubbished the malicious claims in a statement to the public.

“We wish to inform the People of Machakos County that Senator Boniface Mutinda Kabaka, is recuperating at Nairobi Hospital,” read part of the statement seen by TrendingLeo.co.ke.

The family called on the public to ignore the claims and instead focus on praying for the full recovery of the senator.

“Please avoid or ignore the distressing rumours and fake news and continue praying for full Recovery of our brother, father, friend, pillar and senator. Thank you for the support so far,” the family added.

Kabaka’s woes

Kabaka’s fight for his health began with a solo drive to an apartment in the posh Kilimani area on Thursday, December 3, 2020.

Detectives probing the matter indicated that Kabaka drove himself without bodyguards and driver and checked himself in apartment number 306 in 3Dee Apartments at 2.00pm.

The sleuths further indicated that Esther Nthenya a teacher at Wote in Makueni county joined the senator about an hour later.

The two ordered food and drinks that day and had a good time only for things to change at night when the senator suddenly fell very ill and had to be taken to Nairobi Hospital.

Nthenya was arrested over the legislator’s sickness.

She was taken to court and investigators made a 7-day extended detention request to the court on Monday, December 7.

The court granted the plea but the suspect was released on Wednesday, December 9, after toxicity tests on the senator indicated he was not poisoned as suspected.

The senator is still at Nairobi Hospital’s ICU ward.
