Bola Tinubu has been officially sworn in as the President of Nigeria, the largest democracy in Africa.

Mr. Tinubu emerged as the winner of the February election, pledging to bring about a renewed sense of hope. However, he faces significant obstacles in the form of economic hardships and security concerns.

As he takes over from the two-term President Muhammadu Buhari, the country is grappling with high inflation, escalating debt levels, and a rise in incidents of kidnappings for ransom.

His victory is currently being contested in court by his two main rivals, who allege electoral manipulation. Nonetheless, outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari asserts that the election was conducted in a “fair and transparent” manner.
