Veteran radio producer at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) Beatrice Kevogo has died.

The producer known for coming up with Christian programmes at the national broadcaster died in a grisly road accident in Rongo, Migori county on Tuesday, December 15.

Kevogo was the mastermind behind the production of ‘Mwamba wa Baraka’ and ‘ Safari ya Bibilia’ programmes in KBC.

KBC reported that the accident happened at a quarter to midday when the car Kevogo and other three occupants were travelling in was hit head on with an overtaking truck from the opposite direction.

Rongo Sub County Police Commander Peter Okiring said the accident claimed lives of all the four occupants in Kevogo’s car on the spot, along the Kisii-Migori highway.

Kevogo’s son Presley Sagala, 31, said his mother was on her way to Hamisi from Migori.

The deceased had planned her elderly mother from Hamisi to Kitale but never made it.

Kevin Chweya Engoke who was the driver of Kevogo’s car, Anne Alividza a relative and church member Alphine Auma Odongo were in the car.

Preliminary findings by police, according to Okiring, indicate that the lorry was speeding.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to Rosewood Hospital mortuary in Rongo.
